Hi everyone!

I'm kinda new in the bitcoin community but I really belive in this ptoject.

I try to find some more information about it and my last thought is about the power consumption.

According to the fact that the number of miners running increase with the price of BTC, I'm a little bit concerned about sustainability… If BTC increase by x100 (just a supposition), electricity consumption gonna increase about the same, right? So is there any work in progress about this ? Switching PoW for something else or update it?

Sorry if my question is a bit stupid. I know that PoW is an importante part of Bitcoin. Any documented answer is welcome (even if it to explain that it's the only good solution).

Have a good day!
