Recently, I saw many people installing Electrum servers and offering them to others.

While this contribution is very much appreciated, I think Electrum users should run their own servers to make sure their data really is valid. This holds true even more so in the event of a contentious hard fork from BU folks and the possible coin split.

I set up my own Electrum server on my older macbook pro two weeks ago. It was pain in the ass to set up and took me days to figure it out. In the end I made it so I wrote a guide to make it easier for less tech-savvy people.

Hope you find it useful!

P.S. this guide is also for BU supporters so they also stay on the "right" chain should the coin split happen.

tldr; wrote a guide to install Electrum server for Electrum wallet users.
