Crypto Coins News - Ratings - Reviews
I've seen the new documentary "Magic Money: The Bitcoin Revolution" promoted a few times here and also in other places, and while I guess I somewhat enjoyed watching it, I just didn't think it was very good. The female voiceover explaining parts of Bitcoin was drab and unexciting, explanations of mining and the distributed ledger were mediocre and would leave an outsider more confused, rather than less, and the demos of sending coins really didn't add anything since those segments could have just as simply been filmed using Paypal or Venmo to the layperson's eye. There was nothing "magical" there. The documentary didn't really do a good job explaining how Bitcoin is secure or what brings it value. It mentioned the unbanked, but rather than point to actual examples of this (such as school girls in afghanistan) it just glosses over the idea with vague generalities.
You could tell that some of the featured people were excited about bitcoin, but without picking individuals out, it was really hard to see why they were excited, nor why anyone should believe the rhetoric about the impending bank collapse.
Am I missing something, or was it just not that great?
