Rant: I'm sure this will piss everyone off but i need to get it off my chest. Last night I sent some btc to my mobile wallet to spend today. I created the tx in my cold storage wallet stored in TAILS which uses Electrum 2.6.4. (Non-rbf version) I stupidly set the fee too low and of course the tx is unconfirmed. It has been 24-hours and it's still unconfirmed. I've tried just about every solution under the sun suggested on the internet and nothing works. I even manually edited the electrum wallet file, removed the unconfirmed tx, and tried to sweep both of the inputs. NOPE. The network will not let me double spend the coins because of the unconfirmed tx sitting out there gathering dust.
Obviously this is my fault. I should have set a higher fee and i should have used a newer version of Electrum that supports RBF. But i didn't. I made a newbie mistake. And now i'm screwed. My money is there but i can't touch it until some random undetermined future date when the tx drops out of the mem pool. Bitcoin just told me to go fuck myself, essentially.
(P.s., if you have an actual solution or suggestion please let me know. If you're just going to say i'm dumb and i should have set a higher fee or used RBF, spare me. I'm aware i fucked up.)
