I think both companies would benefit greatly if they allowed drivers to accept bitcoin payments for a number of reasons. First, a lot of the drivers that I have rode with, especially in larger cities, are foreign and in talking to them, a lot send money back home. If bitcoin were accepted, this money would be safer and easier to send. Second, it would be a great PR move for both companies as they both promote themselves as technology companies. Lastly, it would allow for more privacy and security with payments. Many credit/debit card users are uneasy about keeping their card information on a third party application or a mobile device.
