Crypto Coins News - Ratings - Reviews
First off I am posting this on both subreddits
I'm new to bitcoin, I started following news about it in December of last year. I bought my first coins in August at around $600. I didn't even know about blocksize or how bitcoin worked until I started doing some research. And when I figured out the basics I started to get interested in the debate, and the options available to the community. I'm not going to say which side I am on because it doesn't matter, its just politics
One can only imagine the thoughts going through a new user's head when they stumble upon either r/btc or r/bitcoin. Pure and utter confusion. Both sides are attacking each other relentlessly to no end. One of the biggest issues is trust. Bitcoin is a beautiful piece of technology that boasts about its nature of being a "zero trust system." Why should I trust either of these subreddits? What do either of these entities have over the other that makes me want to believe one over the other? And what if, make sure to put your tin foil hats on for this one folks, they're both lying with the sole purpose of pushing their own agenda? I'm not saying this is true, I'm just showing how little authority either of these groups have.
The war between subreddits is essentially a war between BU and Core. New users will take a look at both and more than choose to frequent and support whatever scaling solution they prefer. And this only divides the community more.
The people on r/btc are referred to as trolls and people who only want the worst for bitcoin while the people on r/bitcoin are berated for censorship claims constantly. Many of these posts insulting the other subreddit make it to the top page frequently. It isn’t news, it isn’t some funny bitcoin drawing GIF someone made, its only politics and hatred. And it needs to stop
TL;DR: Everyone unwind their panties stop the infighting, its not helping anyone
